A little about us

Gandomak is a Persian language school that serves families in Washington DC and Northern Virginia. We provide a full immersion language and cultural experience for children from 18 months to 7 years old.  Our education is play-based and community-focused, builds confidence and social skills together with creative self-expression. During our classes, children will participate in a variety of activities including arts, music, storytelling, games, dance, and movement. Our lesson plans are designed to develop children’s language skills as they improve their understanding of the Persian alphabet and literacy in a fun atmosphere.

My son wakes up almost every morning asking if has Farsi class today. That should explain it all! The instructors are very caring and the curriculum is great. The hands on activities are very fun for the kids. Definitely recommended!

I have my 2 sons (2 and 3.5 yrs old) enrolled and this has been our 3rd week attending. They have been having a really fun time and we practice our new Persian vocabulary words every week! The classes are theme based, repetition of things we have seen and learned from previous weeks and all so very entertaining. If you have young children and just want to expose them to Farsi, Gandomak is a great start!

Our son has been coming here since he was just about 12months old and we could not be happier. Golbarg and ALL of the teachers are exceptional. The class is very fun and varied and keeps the children engaged while adding a little vocabulary each week. Highly recommend to any families looking to add Farsi in their children's lives.

My son started at 1.5 years old and already enjoyed two semesters. He loves the music, art and craft activities, stories, and games. My husband (who does not speak Farsi) and I have also learned a lot. The sessions are very well planned and organized - high energy, with very interesting curriculum. Between classes, we practice the songs and words we learned, and he asks about his friends from class. It has been a bringer of joy to our family and a huge gift in helping me expose my son to Persian culture and language. The teachers are very dedicated and prepared, and it is clear they truly love engaging with the children and parents.
